MANIAC Announces SKITLIV Limited-Edition MCD Release
November 2, 2007SKITLIV frontman and creator Maniac announced today that the band will self-release a two-track MCD in time to coincide with its upcoming tour with SHINING and HELLSAW. Titled "Kristiansen and Kvarforth Swim in the Sea of Equilibrium … Waiting", the MCD will contain two tracks: a completely revised version of "Slow Pain Coming", and a new song, "Sad Eyes of the Goddess", which was co-written with Niklas Kvarforth; together with an introduction which was specially recorded for SKITLIV by CURRENT 93.
Maniac commented on how the collaboration with CURRENT 93 came about: "I had been a fan of the band for many, many years, and David Tibet is one of the musicians I most admire. During a holiday in the UK I was finally able to meet up with him face-to-face, and when I asked him if he would consider allowing us to use something from CURRENT 93 as an intro to our stage show, he actually volunteered to prepare a couple of intros for SKITLIV — one that we will use for the recording and one for live performances. Hopefully this will be the first of a number of collaborations."
The release also cements still further the collaboration between Maniac and SHINING's Kvarforth, who is now a full-time member of SKITLIV and who recently toured with the band during their short tour with GALLHAMMER. Kvarforth will perform both with SKITLIV and with SHINING during the 19-date December tour.
"Kristiansen and Kvarforth Swim in the Sea of Equilibrium … Waiting" will be strictly limited to 393 hand-numbered copies and will be sold exclusively on the tour and through the band's MySpace page.
